This original watercolor began with a birthday surprise for my wife. I had just bought myself a Corvette, so I knew I needed to do something extra special for her. We returned to St. Augustine, the city where we were married, and stayed once again at the historic Edgewater Inn, the same place we spent our honeymoon.

From the Inn's shoreline, the iconic Bridge of Lions stood quietly over the water, its graceful architecture reminding me that bridges are built to connect what was once separated. That image became the inspiration for this painting.

Painted in carefully layered watercolor, this piece captures the gentle play of light on the water, the timeless beauty of the bridge, and the quiet stillness of that unforgettable morning.
